About UC Irvine

UC Irvine campus sits on 1,500 acres of coastal foothills in Orange County, just a few miles from the Pacific Ocean. Located in Irvine, which consistently ranks as one of the safest large cities in the nation, UC Irvine is centrally located to surfing beaches, bike trails, hiking, desert camping and mountain resorts.

The centerpiece of the campus is the Aldrich Park. Its unique circular design consists of sweeping lawns, native shrubs, and large trees, and the park is surrounded by the university’s academic buildings.

The campus has produced five Nobel laureates and is known for its academic achievement, premier research, innovation, and anteater mascot.

UC Irvine is one of ten campuses of the University of California system has more than 37,000 students and offers more than 200-degree programs.

The Joe C. Wen School of Population & Public Health is a leader in research and training in population and community-based knowledge to promote health and reduce the societal burden of human disease .

Wen Public Health is made up of approximately 1,450 undergraduates and roughly 200 graduate students as of Fall 2024.

The school is headquartered in the 108,200-square-foot state-of-the-art, five-story, College of Health Sciences Building which opened in November 2022. The building houses 10 classrooms, 18 conference rooms, 87 clinical spaces, a 200-seat auditorium, and a 1,100 sq.ft. teaching kitchen.
